Kheerganga Closes but not Completely!

tent for rent in kheerganga

I published an article on 24th where I mentioned about camps to be booted from Kheerganga but many people claimed it be a false statement. But finally this statement has been confirmed by the Forest Department.

As I mentioned earlier in my old article that people were given deadlines for 25th April but as they pleaded to the High court due to the heavy investments they made, they were given extension of one month.

On 25th May thakur bhai reported me that nearly all camping sites and cafe’s have been removed from Kheerganga and only few were left as these few people owned some private land.

And one more update he gave me was that the few tents remaining will be called off by 28th May.

Parvati divisional forest officer (DFOs) Hiralal Rana told The Times of India on Saturday that cafés and restaurants had been asked to leave because the high-altitude meadow fell in forest land and no commercial activity was allowed in such places. source Times of India

Kheerganga is situated at an altitude of 2960m from sea level binding some picturesque beauty of the Himalayas. 12km trek to kheerganga falls under the easy category of difficulty level, half of which is normal walk till Rudranaag and another half is mild climb, covered with pine trees which soon open to the meadows of kheerganga. According to the local administration nearly 50 camps were illegally mushroomed in the valley causing damage to the environment and wildlife nearby.

Tourists will still be allowed to visit and camp at Kheerganga, after they take a permit from the forest department, Rana added. “There is one rider, though: they will have to collect all the trash they take with them,” DFO said.. source TimesofIndia

So this is the final report which I got from some local people and some from Times of India. At last i would like to say that it was walkingwanderer.com which first reported about this Incident in order to help people make proper itenary for their visit to Parvati valley or Kheerganga and prevent from frauds.

I got this information from Thakur bhai who has his camping site in Kheerganga, So if you guys have more doubts you can call him on 8988265439 regarding Kheerganga trek or can DM me on Instagram on any other Issue
