9.Kasol

The town hasn’t  got monuments or other such sightseeing points but the natural beauty that the heart craves for, is in abundance. Kasol is also known to be as the mini Israel of Himachal Pradesh because of the many Israeli inhabitants one can see there. The sign boards of many cafes and restaurants are in Hebrew. The Great Khali – the famous professional wrestler whose actual name is Dalip Singh Rana was born in Dhiraina of Himachal Pradesh. is an Indian promoter, actor, powerlifter and professional wrestler best known for his time with WWE. Known for his great height, in 2014 he was described as the eighth tallest professional wrestler in history.

Anupam Kher – popular Bollywood actor whose has done numerous hindi films was born in Shimla. He has appeared in over 400 films and many plays. Mainly working in Hindi films, he has also appeared in acclaimed international films such as the 2002 Golden Globe nominated Bend It Like Beckham, Ang Lee’s 2007 Golden Lion-winning Lust, Caution, and David O. Russell’s 2013 Oscar-winning Silver Linings Playbook. Kher has won the Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Comic Role five times. For his performance in the 1988 film Vijay he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Preity Zinta – the famous bollywood actress was born in Shimla. She has appeared in Hindi films of Bollywood, as well as Telugu, Punjabi and English language films. After graduating with degrees in English honours and criminal psychology, Zinta made her acting debut in Dil Se.. in 1998 followed by a role in Soldier the same year. These performances earned her a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut,

Ranaut is particularly known in the media for expressing her honest opinions in public and is frequently credited as one of the most fashionable Indian celebrities. She is the recipient of several awards, including three National Film Awards and Filmfare Awards in four categories.Born in Bhambla, a small town in Himachal Pradesh, Ranaut initially aspired to become a doctor at the insistence of her parents. Determined to build her own career path, she relocated to Delhi at age sixteen, where she briefly became a model. After training under the theatre director Arvind Gaur, Ranaut made her feature film debut in the 2006 thriller Gangster, for which she was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

Vikram Batra – the hero of Kargil War who served as Captain in Indian Army  was born in Palampur of Himachal. Captain Vikram Batra, PVC (9 September 1974 – 7 July 1999) was an officer of the Indian Army, posthumously awarded with the Param Vir Chakra,[2] India’s highest and prestigious award for valour, for his actions during the 1999 Kargil War in Kashmir between India and Pakistan. He led one of the toughest operations in mountain warfare in Indian history. He was often called as ‘’Sher Shah’’ in the intercepted messages of the Pakistan army.

5.Kullu Folk Dance Finds Place in Guinness Book of World Records.

The colourful Kullu folk dance (Nati), which saw participation of 20,000 dancers during Kullu Dussehra festival on October 26 last year, has entered the Guinness book of world records. In the Nati, 10,000 men and women attired in traditional Kullu dress performed at Dhalpur Ground during Kullu Dussehra festival on October 26 last year. The jamboree of over 20,000 people danced to spread the message of ‘Beti Hai Anmol’ (Girl child is precious).

3.Shilaroo hockey stadium

The famous Shilaroo hockey stadium is amongst the Asia’s  highest  hockey ground . which is located around 49 km from state capital Shimla with kinnaur. It is located at an altitude of 8000 feet and surrounded by picturesque Narkanda and Hatu peaks and also has the excellent indoor facilities  for handball , volleyball , badminton , basketball , table tennis, fencing and wrestling apart from gymnasium and hostel facilities. Most of the other facilities are on the other side of the stadium . It is very well maintained and colorful stadium looks more magical with snow covered peaks in the background . Hills in the background are the famous Hatu peaks.

2.Highest Cricket stadium

The Chail cricket stadium Of Himachal Pradesh is the highest cricket ground in the world

Built in 1893 after leveling a hilltop, this cricket pitch is 2444 meters above sea level. Built by Maharaja of Patiala Bhupinder Singh, who developed Chail as his summer capital, the ground was used to play friendly matches by him. It was later transferred to the military school.
