Journey for the soul

Traveling has no limitation and boundaries its all about exploring oneself and the unleashed beauty of nature. Traveling to unknown places , admiring unknown cultures and walking with the natives of the place adds further to the beauty of traveling. Travel industry has witnessed a great revolution since the dawn of human civilization. In 1894, Thomas cook, a Baptist preacher made a deal with midland railways so as to transport some members of his society and he was the 1st recorded travel agent in the history of the world. Technical discoveries in the method of transportation further changed the face of this industry and soon it became one of the major economy generating industry for any country. According to the survey of World Travel And Tourism Council , 9.8% (US$7.2 trillion) of world GDP is generated by the tourism industry. Traveling is the most important part or I can say is the necessity of life. One day a friend of mine asked me the question, why you travel so much? I gently smiled back, asking him to make me count few aw-inspiring moments of his life. First he pretended to think and then he started with few things that he did in his college. I asked him again the same question by emphasizing on the word aw-inspiring, for few minutes he was silent and then in a very polite tone he replied that I got my answer. Such is the beauty of traveling, Traveling elevates your soul beyond this world leaving behind all the frustration, agony, pain and all the negative vibes that you posses. Exploring places does not require money it just need the desire to explore. Somebody has truly said that in this world the most beautiful things are cheap and the rest are very expensive and I think that traveling is one such thing which is not so expensive. A bag pack and camera is all you need and you are ready to explore this world.

Blissful escape

The journey to Triund starts from resplendent hill station Mc-leodgunj which is moored between the majestic Dhauladhar. After leaving Mc-leodgunj the next speckle, which arrives is Dharmkot village which is at a distance of 3 to 4 kilometers from Mc-leodgunj. Dharmkot gives a scenic view of the Kangra valley on one side and Dhauladhar range on the other. Dharmkot is home for a number of foreigners as the temperature here is adorable. At a distance of 4-5 km from Dharmkot you will reach Galu devi from where after registration you can move to your ultimate destination Triund. Triund is a peaceful place which is situated in the lap of Dhauladhar and at top of Dharmshala. Which is accessible for almost the whole of the year except during the winters when snow cuts the way off. The panorama of the place is exhilarating and the view of  the Kangra valley from the top is awe-inspiring. The trek or the journey to Triund is not a big challenge. The beauty of the nature can be felt at the very first step of your journey. The more you walk more you feel the calmness of nature. The trek is approximately 6-7 km which is not so tiring but the last 100- 200 meters steepness may consume your energy but that is what trekking is all about. There are 2-3 cafes on the way which help in rejuvenating the energy you have lost.

. Reaching Triund takes around 3-4 hours if you travel at a very decent speed and if you are a slow walker it may take around 5-6 hours but not more than that. The scenic beauty of Triund elevates audiences and transport them to a higher level of consciousness. And my review of the place is based on this belief of mine. The best time for trekking to Triund is around April and may. The Café named as mid way café is situated at a very beautiful point where trekkers can have some snacks etc. to gain some energy.

What can be done
On reaching Triund the 1st and the most basic thing that can be done is looking for the tents. There you can find tents according to your need like for 4 people,2 people, etc. or you can even carry your own tents (Bargaining can be tried). Cost is around 1000 Rs for a 2 person tent and 1500-2000 for a 4 person tent, rest up to the negotiator. The weekends offer more crowd, hence the prices also elevate up to some extent. The spectacular view of the place will make you forget everything, even the elevated prices, hence its not a big deal.

Can staying for night be good?

According to me if you visit Triund I would personally recommend my readers to stay for the night and that night will probably become one of the best nights of your life. Everywhere the sight of bonfire during the night further adds to the beauty. You can hear people singing, dancing and enjoying the fullest in the lap of mother nature. Meeting new people, knowing them and the interactive sessions of telling about each others experiences will definitely be worth spending the night in Triund. Things don’t finish yet, the next morning before leaving Triund you would definitely love to watch the best sunrise of your life and the freshness and the aroma of the place.
